Monitoring COVID-19: Keeping our Communities Healthy

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth (BID – Plymouth) is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus).

03.18.20 UPDATE

If you are experiencing any one of the following COVID-19 symptoms:

  • Symptoms of fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, shortness of breath, or a headache, OR
  • If you have traveled to any of the countries listed on the CDC's travel warnings, OR
  • If you have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19,

please contact your primary care provider prior to visiting a healthcare facility.

Your provider will determine the appropriate steps for you to take, which may be to stay home to reduce the possibility of spreading the disease to others. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1.

BID-Plymouth, and all Beth Israel Lahey Health hospitals and physicians' offices, are prepared to respond to this pandemic.

For more information, please visit or call the MA. Department of Public Health by calling 2-1-1.

Information for Visitors

In an effort to confront emerging challenges related to COVID-19 transmission in the community, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth (BID – Plymouth) has initiated emergency measures to prevent avoidable transmission of illness.

As part of these measures, BID-Plymouth along with all Beth Israel Lahey Health hospitals, has cancelled all non-urgent elective surgeries, procedures, and testing EFFECTIVE TODAY—March 16, 2020. It’s recommended that you contact the department where you are to have a procedure for additional information.

(3.13.20) WE ARE RESTRICTING ALL VISITORS to protect the health of patients and staff--unless pre-approved by each patient's care team under extenuating circumstances.

Patient escorts in ambulatory areas will be actively screened and permitted IF:

  • In the last 14 days have not:
    - Traveled to a COVID-19 high-risk area

All visitors will be screened upon entrance. If a visitor meets any of these criteria, he/she will not be allowed to visit.
